Since I upgraded to WP 2.0 I got rid of the CAPTCHA and still don’t have spam in the comments. That’s not to say people aren’t trying but 2.0 has a little program called Akismet that seems to do a really great job of catching spam. I think mine has caught close to 100 so far. If you are still using 1.5 I recommend upgrading and getting rid of your CAPTCHA.
Edit: I just checked and Akismet has actually caught 143 so far.
I’m not sure who I get to blame. I don’t know if it’s from mom’s side or dad’s side but it didn’t just happen.
By now you’re asking yourself “What is he talking about?” I’m talking about my lower pods, my lower appendage ends, in other words, my feet.
It seems I have been blessed in one way in that I don’t have flat feet. Although that has probably saved me from early foot pain, I do suffer from the opposite affliction. I have “high arches”. In fact the podiatrist said they are unusually high.
A little background is in order. For the last year or so I’ve had a pain on the side of my foot that comes and goes. It mainly hurt only if I was walking but lately it’s gotten to the point where it hurt most of the time. The pain has also started radiating up to my ankle so I decided it was time to see a Dr. My GP didn’t have a clue so he referred me to a pod doc. I saw him today and that’s when he told me my problem. He gave me an injection of cortisone and made a temporary cushion. I guess those of us with extremely high arches tend to walk on the outside of the foot which creates above normal stress.
The cure is orthotics. So now I have an appointment to get my foot lathered in plaster of Paris. I’ll keep you informed.
For you Gaim folks 2.0.0beta3 is out. I don’t know what the difference is from beta2 but I went ahead and installed it. I think it’s getting close to a full release.
I think it’s time to recall our mayor. I wasn’t real crazy about him when he got elected and I’m even less so after last week. Some would say I’m a racist but I don’t think race has anything to do with why I want him out.
As most of you heard, last week we had a protest demonstration in Los Angeles that was estimated at 500,000 or more. They weren’t protesting the war, they were protesting our government’s plan to turn a crime that is currently a misdemeanor into a felony.
I understand why they cross our borders. I understand that Mexico isn’t the greatest place to bring up your family but there is a legal process to come to this country. Following that process became so much more improtant after 9/11. There are thousands and thousands who want to see every man, woman, and child in this country dead. Nothing would give them more joy. That’s why we must protect our borders and know who we are letting in. That’s why it must be a crime to cross the border.
But what about Antonio you ask. What did he do? Well, he was the greeter to these 500,000 people. He stood on the steps of City Hall and told these people they were right and that he agrees with them. In other words our mayor told people he thinks it’s ok to break the law if you don’t agree with that law. Did I mention he was a member of Mecha? Mecha is an orginazation who’s primary purpose is to take back(liberate) Aztlan. Of course Aztlan includes California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and parts of a few other states.
And now he’s the mayor of the second largest city in the US. If that doesn’t scare you I don’t know what will.
