What’s this thing called internet?

  1. I found the most interesting comment to be “there’s not a lot of cursing or rude language or screenfuls of angry stuff. People have a sense of community…”

    If only… 🙁

Very cool. I remember my first glimpse of the internet, and it was you, Don, showing us Yahoo at Daryl’s house. I had heard about it from guys at work, but had never seen it in action.

Our world gets smaller every day.

  2. Yeah it used to be a lot different. I first got on the internet when I installed OS2 Warp in I believe 1994. OS2 came with programs and tools to make it “relatively easy” to connect up. I used Primenet.com as an internet provider with my 14.4 modem.

I remember the first time I saw Yahoo on the first graphical browser called Mosaic. I thought it was interesting that someone had spent a lot of time gathering a page full of links but I didn’t know what good it was going to be.

Widespread use of the internet is barely 15 years old. When you think about the advances in technology it makes you glad to be part of it and jealous of my grandkids who just may ask “can I go ride my Zoom?

  3. I went online for the first time in school… I think the first home internet I saw was when I visited you. Liam will never know what life is like without having a computer with internet in our home.
