What has changed since 2009 that you bring this up now?
How is his spinning it as not a tax any different from things all politicians do almost every time they open their mouths? Why don’t you get upset and complain when Romney lies, or Boehner, or McConnell, or Bachmann, or Palin?
If you think either side lies or stretches the truth or spins things for personal benefit more than the other, you have been getting too much news from partisan sources and need to broaden your perspective.
And by the way, if Obama is a “liar” for saying the penalty is not a tax, then Romney and Scalia are also liars, since they both also clearly stated it is not a tax.
It’s like saying I’m a liar because I told my kids when they were little that Pluto is a planet, but now it has been “ruled” not a planet so I must have lied.
Daryl you forget something. Obama’s lawyers actually argued that it was a tax in front of the SCOTUS. He knew it when he was telling America that it wasn’t a tax.
I don’t complain about the others because so far the others haven’t “fundamentally changed America” yet. If they do I’ll be right there.
And one other mistake you might want to refrain from making this election is somehow believing that I’m a big Romney supporter. He is very, very far down on my list of preferred presidential candidates but he’s way, way above Obama. I know Romney is a politician and lies and does things I don’t like but hopefully he will be a little less a believer in socialism and communism.
I think the Patriot Act and its fallout (indefinitely detaining US citizens, wiretaps without court order, NSA collection and storage of billions of emails every day, etc.), and the “Executive Privilege” that both Bush and Obama support are far more dangerous to our freedoms than health care reform, have “fundamentally changed America” to a much greater extent, but get far less attention.
We’ve discussed the definition of “socialist” before, and I don’t think there’s any use reopening that one. Let’s just say we strongly disagree.

Touche, Daryl! The Pluto planet analogy was very clever. It’s also like Bush didn’t lie about Iraq having WMD because he (and his advisers) really believed they did until we got in there.
