Another Sad One

Yes Trump is a tool but this happens to be true.

  1. I could have gone all day without that to mull over, although I don’t think that it will do too much to me, I know that they will no longer approve dialysis for anyone over 75, but I hope I don’t need it, although I have friends who do. I guess they just die,

  3. Here’s another one that debunks the death panel claim.

I’m not concerned about death panels. What I’m concerned with is the $1,700,000,000,000 that Obamatax (note I’m not calling it Obamacare anymore since it’s actually a tax) is going to cost.

  4. Do you have a source for the $1.7 trillion? I don’t know what you are referring to. Over how much time? For what? Cost who?

  6. Or go to the CBO themselves if you don’t trust Lou. $1.762 TRILLION over 11 years. That’s the “Gross Cost of Coverage Provisions” right from the next to last page.

  8. OK, right, I found that on Wikipedia too. (Though note that Dobb’s claim that it “doubles earlier projections” is debunked by Politifact.)

But that’s still a lot of money, spread over 10 years (2012 – 2022). It’s about $170 billion/year, which is about 1/5 of Social Security costs, 1/5 of National Defense, and 1/3 of Medicare. A lot of money.

Personally I believe the country can’t afford not to enact some kind of universal health care. If there is a better and cheaper way to ensure everyone can get covered, I would be glad to replace this one.

Our current method of caring for the uninsured by “free” emergency room visits penalizes all of us with increased insurance and hospital costs.

  9. One of the things that annoys me the most about the whole Obamacaretax is that they rammed it through without actually reading it. Remember when Nutsy Pelosi said “we have to pass it so we can see what’s in it”?

Not a single Republican voted for it. Every Democrat voted for it. It’s the most partisan (large) bill that’s ever been enacted that I can remember.

I do agree with you that this country needs a health care system that will take care of everyone but this bill isn’t it. This bill will have a negative impact on the care that people can get just because it was put together too fast without really getting both sides of the issue involved.
