The Garden of Don & Patrick

Patrick and I put in a garden today. It’s not very big and that’s the way we wanted it. I’ve had gardens off and on most of my adult life but it has been a while since my last one. I figured I have the time so I asked Patrick if he would like to help. He jumped at the chance so we did it this afternoon. It’s got tomatos, peppers, cucumber, squash, and some herbs.

  2. Here’s to you and your green thumb! Would love some fresh tomatoes when they’re ripe.

  3. Now comes the hard part — weeding and caring for.
It’s like having kids. Starting them is easy.

  4. Yeah, that’s what Patrick is for. This isn’t my first garden.

  5. And actually starting them isn’t that easy. You have to do a lot of prep to the ground.

  6. I remember corn on the cob in Tucson……they said it wouldn’t grow……..should be easy in California!!! maybe (after the snow melts AGAIN) we’ll plant a garden too……. except I don’t have a Patrick.

  7. Yes, the corn was good. I’ve grown it here too but only once.

You do have an Eric. Same thing as a Patrick except mine lives here.

  8. We had some fugly bugs eating our garden. I went out tonight to water and discovered they are all over the basil and have already eaten every leaf off one of the bell peppers. We had some bug spray that I used which I hope will do the trick. I’ve had tomato worms before but I’ve never seen this many bugs on one plant.

  11. They came back and ate the basil and the sugar snap peas. Well, the leafs anyways. I’m not sure what to do now.

  13. Not yet. Only the tomatos and peas are really growing. Everything else got eaten.
