Yes, there’s fire. I’m sure you’ve heard about our newest fire in SoCal. It started at Topanga Canyon Blvd and the 118(Simi Valley) freeway. I went outside and took a few pictures. This first one is looking due east from our front lawn. Notice how clear the air is. The next one is looking due west where the fire is. Check out my gallery.
And now I have a sty. A sty in my eye. Oh my. I can’t remember how old I was the last time I had a large sty but I do remember I was a kid and my folks took me to an eye doctor to have it fixed. I remember the eye doctor was a terrible man who put a needle in my eye that was about the size of a telephone pole. I remember asking my mom if I was going to get a shot and her saying “no, you don’t need a shot.” She was probably right as shots are given with needles that are closer to the size of a pencil.
Ok, so the needle didn’t actually go into my eye, it just went into the corner. Considering all my brother Daryl went through with his eye when he was a kid I was probably a real big baby. That’s ok, I was the baby after all.
So now I’m dealing with this sty and I’m sure it’s getting better with the heat packs. I thought about going to the doctor but most of the advice on the internet says to just use heat and if it doesn’t go away in a few days THEN go see the doctor.
I’m pretty sure my dreams tonight will include telephone poles and mad doctors.
It doesn’t make me feel one bit more secure seeing those pictures. Are you sure that you are seeing it correctly? Could it be that your stye makes the smoke look worse than it really is?
And no, you didn’t have a telephone pole in your eye, but still, after all these years, I apologize for lying to you; I really didn’t know that the Dr. was going to do that.
Keep your fingers out of your eyes in the future.

Of course any medical advice you read on the internet, you can stake your life on. Or your eye.

Of course you can! I did read it in about a gazillion different places so I think it’s probably not bad advice.
And for you who might be worried that we are close to the fire, don’t. We are about 8 miles from the closest one. About a billion dollars worth of homes would have to burn before we were in danger and I doubt that’s going to happen.

Hard to believe both those pics were taken from your yard.
