This debate was a bit different than the pundits predicted. Palin hit it out of the park. If you have a different opinion then you weren’t watching the same debate I was.
Palin said a few things the fact checkers will correct. Biden said about 15.

Hmm. I thought they were about equal. Of course, Palin won in a way by beating expectations by not repeating her performance of the Couric interviews.
I thought Biden addressed the actual questions that were asked a little better, but they both tended to jump off topic with almost every response.
It will be interesting to see how the polls come out in the next couple of days. I’m sure most verdicts will follow party line.

BTW, Politifact.com in a quick summary has:
Biden had 2 barely trues and 1 mostly true.
Palin had 2 trues and a barely true.
So based on this quick summary she was more accurate. Let’s see what FactCheck.org comes up with after their more detailed analysis.

A nationwide CNN poll has 51% of the respondents saying Biden won, and 36% saying Palin won.
In a nationwide CBS Poll of uncommitted voters, 46% said Biden won, while 21% said Palin won.
Of course a Fox News’ “Forum” gives it to Palin, but a hand-picked forum is not a poll.

Of the undecided I talked to at work, they thought Biden won, but were glad palin didn’t fall on her face like predicted.
Of course I help their voting (not debate) decisions along by pointing out some awesomebidenism.

Awesomebidenism must be an Oxymoron.

Factcheck.org had a full review of the debate today.
They pretty much take turns pointing out each debater’s inaccuracies, one by one, alternatively. I’m not sure if that means they were both equally untruthful, or whether they were just trying to be balanced and fair.
I was kind of hoping the candidates would just answer the questions. On the first question, Biden gave a brief answer to the question, then immediately embarked on why Obama was better than McCain, and what McCain had done or would do wrong. Palin then did the same thing, and they were off. The questions were just kind of “launching points”.
As Palin pretty honestly said at one point, she may not answer the questions as the moderator wanted, but would talk straight to the American people. Of course, that’s what they both were doing but it was kind of refreshing to hear her admit it. The debate was primarily a chance to campaign for your candidate in front of a large audience, not to show your position on and understanding of the issues.

I really felt like Biden simply used every question to attack McCain and not truly answer the question. He was also quite a name dropper, I don’t care for that type!
Palin is refreshing when it comes to politics!
