I decided to try Alton Brown’s pancake recipe the last time I made them and they were so good that’s what I’m using from now on. Here’s some pics to get you hungry.
That’s the batter. I find I have to use a little more buttermilk than is called for because I use Knudsen’s which is very thick.
This is the griddle we use. I got it through a Boeing awards program.

We took Mark and Heather to the harbor so they could do their cruise this afternoon. They are on a 3 night LA to Ensenada Mexico cruise. I get to go back down there Monday morning and pick them up. Betty and I were thinking maybe we should do one too one of these days.
Jenny is cleaning out the garage(a lot of toys from when the girls were kids and their dad bought them a bunch) and found this picture. It was taken in 1996 and I think it was the last time all my girls were in the same room.
We got a turkey fryer about a month ago for half price. Today we finally used it. It took about 40 minutes to fry a 13 lb turkey and is it good! It was dark brown on the outside but moist and tender on the inside. I think I’ve found the best way to do turkey. I wonder how a tri-tip would be?
I know Phoenix and friends get this day after day but here in Los Angeles it’s a little out of the ordinary.
It was Camden’s birthday and we went to Arizona to help him celebrate. We also went to see our new grandson Carsten. See the pictures in the gallery.
