The information was probably provided by Eva NICHOLS and was probably in error. All other records including several US Census records say Edmund. Eva also indicated she was the spouse of William. She would have been William's second marriage. According to some family members, William was never divorced from his first spouse and never married Eva NICHOLS. Alms House. His death certificate says that he was married to Eva NICHOLS who would have been his second wife. No evidence that they were actually married.
