Born ± 1645, died 1697 at Kingstown, RI, approximately 52 years Children: 1. Thomas BRIGGSBorn 29 Jan 1663 at MA, died 1736, 72 or 73 years Probably not a son of John and Frances. In his will, John deeded land to his "oldest son, John", which would rule out Thomas and Daniel. According to records in Genealogy.com Thomas and Daniel were born in MA. 1703--made a freeman. 19 Mar 1707 he and his ife Martha, deeded for love, etc. to son-in-law Samuel GARDINER, of East Greenwich, half of 90 acre farm which I now live upon, and the other half at my decease, 04 Jan 1724 Will written, proved 25 Dec 1736. Executor wife Martha. To wife, all meveables to dispose of, and what she leaves, I give to my daughter, Ann GARDINER.. To wife, also, the income of real estate for life. Inventory: 151£ 5s 11d viz: spinning wheel, carpenter tools, 4 neat cattle, horsekind, sheep, etc. 2. Daniel BRIGGSBorn ± 1665 at MA, died 1730 at East Greenwich, Kent, RI, approximately 65 years Probably not a son of John and Frances. In his will, John deeded land to his "oldest son, John", which would rule out Thomas and Daniel. According to Genealogy.com, Thomas and Daniel were born in MA (same dates of birth as those others have listed in RI. Record from http://www,the sorensens.net/FamilyTree/gp2812.htm says that Daniel was born in North Kingstown, RI. Record of Early New England says he was from Patience Island. He bought, of Joseph WAIT of Kingston, land in Greenwich for 40£, 90 acres, He and wife Lydia sold to Thomas Matteson, six acres in East Greenwich for 10£. 09 Sep 1727, will written. Proved 28 May 1730 Executive son Benjamin. To daughter Hannah GARDINER, wife of Joseph 40s. To daughter Martha SPENCER, wife of Samuel 10£. RI, died 13 Aug 1757 at Providence, RI, 87 years Christened 12 Feb 1671 in Cranston, Provicence Co. RI Birth dates disagree. The Feb 12, 1761 one is from the "Biographic of the history of Rhode Island and Providence Plantation. New York Historifal Society". 06 Sep 1687--taxed 1s Said to have been a Sea Captain, by descendant Bob Blackenship 1690--admitted a freeman while living in Providence and Cranston, RI 15 Jun 1728-- Providence--he and his wife Sarah deeded youngest son James, for love, etc. part of farm where I now live. 25 Apr 1738--He and wife Sarah deeded son-in-law Daniel Colvin, and Zipporah his wife, our daughter, 50 acres. adjoining land we gave our son-in-law John Blanchard and Sarah his wife.. Two granddaughters: Elizabeth BRIGGS and Sarah BLANCHARD. Son-in-law: Daniel COLVIN (spelled with an "I"). His will was recorded in Cranston. --Mary's husband's name was spelled with an (E), but seems to have been the same person. To granddaughters Elizabeth BRIGGS and Sarah BLANCHARD, an equal part with one of aforesaid daughters. BURLINGAME son's in law probably named Joshua and Israel, but not known which one married which of James' daughters.
