NY (27 years married) to: Ruth Betsey FISH, daughter of Lewis Benjamin FISH and Fannie W. REMINGTON. Born 24 Feb 1834 at Independence, Allegany, NY, died 24 Apr 1884 at West Union, Steuben Co. PA in 1910 Obituary: Mrs. Jennie Lanphere, wife of Edwin Lanphere, died at her home in Mannsfield, PA, Tuesday March 19 following a two month illness of Brights Disease. Mrs. Lanphere, who was a daughter of Royal Seger, was born in Independence 60 years ago this coming April. She was married to Edwin Lanphere in Independence. They spent many years here in Whitesville, later going to Mansfield. To Mr. and Mrs. Lanphere were born three children: a daughter, Bessie, who died in infancy; Bertha Kear who died some 11 years ago; and a son Cass P., who is in a Federal Training Camp. The body was brought to Whitesville, last evening and the funeral will be held today, Thursday, from the Methodist Episcopal Church at 10 o'clocl. Burial in Rural Cemetery, Whitesville, Allegany Co, NY. Rev. J. E. Tallant officiating. Besides the husband and son Mrs. Lanphere is survived by a sister, Mrs Martha Swort and a brother Fred Seger, both of Whitesville. Died at her home from Bright's Disease (from her obituary).
