"Esther Avstin, the wife of CPT. Anthony Avstin. Dyed March 7, 1698 Aged 55 years. Married ± 1631 at Hampton Rockingham NH (approximately 39 years married) to:  John HUGGINS, son of Robert HUGGINS and Sarah UNK.Born Mar 1602 at Hampton Rockingham, England, died 6 Jun 1670 at Hampton Rockingham, NH, 68 years Some sources give birthdate as 1609, but all agree on place as Hampton, Rockingham, NH In 1678, was a Sergeant of a Foot Co. of Suffield, later Lieutenant (12 Oct 1681) and Captain (1697). First town Clerk (served 27 years for town of Rowley, Exxex, MA, I just found a record saying that his daughter, Esther, was born in Hampton, Rockingham, England. This makes more sense, Also that John was born in England. 1601 is too early to have been born in NH! Children: 1. Esther HUGGINSBorn 1642 at Hampton, Rockingham, England, died 7 Mar 1698 at Suffield, Hampshire, CT, 55 or 56 years, buried at Old burying ground, Hampshire, MA Buried in old burying ground on High Street, Hampshire, MA, behind the meeting house (currently under the First Congregational Church which had been moved to make more room for the Commons). Her gravestone lies in the cemetery west of the church, off of the south-west corner of the Church building. Tombstone inscription visible. On the Old Center Cemetery map, the plot is numbered A-88. Tombstone reads: "Esther Avstin, the wife of Capt. Antony Avstin dyed March 7 1698 aged 55 years." Is Suffield in CT or MA?
