He was wounded in the left thigh at the Battle of Bull Run , and was discharged from the service on 26 Nov, 1863 from College Hospital, Georgetown. He was paroled from Groveton Battlefield, 03 Sep 1862, re-enlisted and was captured a second time. Linford was 5'4" tall, grey eyes and auburn hair. He was a farmer when he enlisted in the service.
