Historical Society for approximate date of birth for his siblings, from the 1880 NY Census. I remember hearing that Aunt Ellen (Hart) brought up Albert after the death of his mother. Was she married and gone from home by 1880? And wasn't Aunt Ellen a twin? I believe she had a twin Helen, who died either at birth or shortly after. Is she the one listed in the 1850 Census as Phebe E? If she was born in 1845, she could have finished bringing up Albert, born in 1863, after her mother died in 1879. The 1880 Bingham Twp Census shows that Marvin, aged 60, and Albert, age 16, were living with Lysander. and that Albert was working on the farm. Married 21 Dec 1884 at Wiscoy, NY (53 years married) to:  Julia Rena FINNEMORE, daughter of David G. FINNEMORE and Harriet GLIDDON.Born 10 Oct 1863 at Wiscoy, Alle. Co., NY, died 2 Nov 1938 at Wirt Twp., Alle. Co., NY, 75 years, buried Nov 1938 at East Koy cemetery, Wyoming Co NY Witnesses at the double wedding ceremony were her father, David G. FINNEMORE and Charles Whiton, of Wiscoy. Ceremony performed by Rev. C. B. Henderson, of the Baptist Church of Pike. Children: 1. Name filtered PRIVACY FILTER2. William Earl BRIGGSBorn 22 Sep 1889 at Kearney, NE, died 11 Dec 1971 at Tucson, Pima Co. AZ, 82 years, buried Dec 1971 at West Genesee Cem. Obi, NY. Occupation: Finisher at Drake Manufacturing (stove mfg), Friendship, Allegany, NY I found an article in an old Friendship paper, dated 27 Apr. 1916, which read: "B.F. Drake has bought Friendship Foundry of Hart and Stroyni which will be run in connection with the engine works and it's expected that they will produce many of the castings used. Mr. Stroyni will continue to work with Mr. Drake." My dad worked in that foundry from about 1927, until he retired in the 1950's. I always heard of Ed Striney (I supposed it was spelled), and thought that he was one of the workers there. I never knew that he was a former owner. This doesn't mention the fact that they made the Empire Range, a combination coal and wood cook stove which every kitchen needed, and of course, the best one made!
