Change of Plans March 31, 2009
Posted by Don in : General , trackbackI went to see a Periodontist last week and now we have new plans. Seems that most of my upper teeth are not in great shape and to spend much time and money on them would be a waste. That means they need to come out. Ouch. My lower teeth are more or less ok and can be kept but now it looks like I’ll have a denture for my uppers. Since I’ve already started my implants we’ll have to see how this impacts what we do but I suspect we will be adding at least 2 more. An upper denture can be held by 4 implants. My dentist would rather have 6 so we’ll have to see. Stupid mouth just got more expensive.

This is being put on hold until I get another job and make some extra money. It’s going to cost close to $20,000 to get 6 implants and then get a denture held in place by those implants. I could have all my upper teeth pulled and get a regular upper denture for a lot less. I may do that as an interim step as the cost for 6 implants is too high.
