Donna told me they were up to WordPress 2.7 beta so since I love the new stuff I upgraded. I like the Dashboard a lot more than the 2.5/6 versions.

I don’t even know what version of WordPress I’m still running. It’s enough hassle to change, and the current version works well enough that I probably won’t bother to upgrade for a long time.
Kind of like I’m still running Windows 2000 on my desktop.
Does that make me an out of touch fuddy-duddy?

The readers can’t tell the difference, but the admin pages are new. I upgraded because I’m a theme junkie and many of the new themes don’t work on older versions of WP. Plus the new version has widgets built in rather than being a plugin. I’m so happy the upgrade process went so easily (and thanks, Don for the tip about backing up the database.)

I’m running Win 2k, XP, Vista, and Fedora 9. If Win 2k does everything you need there’s really no need to upgrade but there were things I run that it doesn’t do. One of those is iTunes. 2k and XP also don’t do DirectX 10.
I like the widgets too. I really like the admin page on 2.7.

I’ll wait until it’s an official release and then upgrade.
